NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ARGENTINA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Carlos Mario Foradori, the new Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Foradori had been serving as Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina and G-20 Sherpa since December 2015.  A career diplomat, Mr. Foradori has served as Ambassador of Argentina in Zimbabwe and Guatemala.  He was a Political Counsellor at the Embassy of Argentina in Washington for many years. 

He has also served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director of the Department of Federal and Electoral Affairs, Director General of Foreign Trade Strategies, Chief of Cabinet of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, and member of the Cabinet of the Vice-Minister. 

Mr. Foradori is a lawyer who received his PhD in political science from Universidad del Salvador, Argentina.  He has three Masters in international relations from Universidad del Salvador; in public administration from Harvard University; and in international public policy from John Hopkins University, Washington.  He also has a postgraduate degree in negotiation and international conflict resolution from Temple University, Philadelphia.  He has served as a professor at the Universidad del Salvador and at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires, and has a number of publications.
