The Role of good governance of the security sector in orderly, safe and regular migration
The United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG) in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), have the pleasure to invite you to a seminar on the role of good governance of the security sector in orderly, safe and regular migration. The seminar will take place on Thursday, 27 June 2019, from 10:00 to 12:00 in Room V at the Palais des Nations.
Acknowledging that migration is a key issue cutting across the fields of human rights, development, and peace and security, this joint UNOG-DCAF seminar will explore the challenges of security sector governance (SSG) related to migration, within the contexts of countries of origin, transition and destination. In particular, it will explore the consequences for the SSG-migration nexus following the adoption of the Global Compacts for migration and refugees in December 2018.
To allow for inclusive and frank exchanges, the discussion will be conducted under Chatham House Rule. Participants are invited to a light breakfast before the start of the seminar.
We hope that you will be able to join us and invite you to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
