About the event
To Celebrate the Launch of the 4th phase (2020-2024) of the World Programme for Human Rights Education, dedicated to youth, the Permanent Mission of Slovenia to the United Nations is hosting a concert, in the presence of the Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Kate Gilmore, and with the support of the cosponsors of the Platform for Human Rights Education and training.
The UN Human Rights Council has adopted a related Plan of Action in September 2019, to start on 1 January 2020. The venue will host the exhibition “Transforming Lives: The Power of Human Rights Education”, a project by civil society sponsored by the Human Rights Council’s Governmental Platform on Human Rights Education and Training. This exhibition aims to raise awareness of the vital role of human rights education in promoting dignity, equality and peace in preventing human rights violations and abuses.
