2019 Protocol V Meeting of Experts



The 2019 Protocol V Meeting of Experts will take place on 23 August (10 am - 1 pm and 3 pm - 6 pm) in Room XVII at the Palais des Nations. Ambassador Terhi Hakala of Finland will chair the Meeting of Experts as President of the Thirteenth Conference of the High Contracting Parties to Protocol V.

The final report of the 2018 Twelfth Conference of the High Contracting Parties to Protocol V provides guidance and direction for the work of the Experts to be undertaken in 2019.

The main issues that will be addressed at the 2019 Meeting of Experts include:

1. National reporting;
2. Universalization
3. Clearance of explosive remnants of war;
4. Article 4 “Recording, retaining and transmission of information”;
5. Victim assistance.
