The Acting Director-General attended a reception on the occasion of the departure of H.E. Mr. Manuel B. Dengo, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Costa Rica to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, and the re-election of Ms. Laura Thompson, a Costa Rican national, Deputy Director General of the International Organization of Migration.

The Acting Director-General attended a reception on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of independence of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas hosted by H.E. Ms. Rhoda M. Jackson, Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Acting Director-General met with the Western European and Others Group (WEOG) of Member States and exchanged views with them on current priorities of the United Nations with a particular focus on the perspective from Geneva.

The Acting Director-General chaired a follow-up meeting on the possibility of creating an United Nations Global Sustainability Index.

The Acting Director-General attended a reception hosted by H.E. Ms. Carole Lanteri, Permanent Representative of the Principality of Monaco to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, on the occasion of the anniversary of the accession to the throne of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The Acting Director-General attended a reception hosted by Mr. Shalva Tsiskarashvili, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, H.E. Mr. Victor Moraru, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, H.E. Mr. Yurii Klymenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, on the occasion of the signing of an association agreement with the European Union

The Acting Director-General met with the East European Group (EEG) of Member States and exchanged views with them on current priorities of the United Nations with a particular focus on the perspective from Geneva.

The Acting Director-General delivered closing remarks at the 52nd Geneva Graduate Study Programme on the theme “Empowering youth: how can the United Nations lead the way forward?”.
