The Director-General welcomed the Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon to UNOG. He accompanied him during his participation in the opening of the 2013 High-Level Segment of the Economic and Social Council and the opening and walk-through of the Innovation Fair.
2 JULY 2013
The Director-General met Mr. Ahmad Alhendawi, the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth to discuss issues of common interest, including the promotion and inclusion of young people in the work of the United Nations.

The Director-General met H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Director-General hosted a luncheon in honour of H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The new representative of the United Kingdom to the Conference on Disarmament, H.E. Mr. Matthew Rowland, presented his letter of nomination to the Director-General.

The Director-General attended a farewell reception hosted by H.E. Mr. Pedro Oyarce, Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Director-General participated in a working meeting with Mr. Tegegnework Gettu, Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management. They discussed issues related to conference management at UNOG, one of the busiest conference centres in the world.

The Director-General met Ms. Atefeh Riazi, Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Information Technology Officer in the Office of Information and Communications Technology.

The Director-General welcomed H.E. Mr. Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, President of the Republic of Colombia, prior to his participation in the 2013 High Level Session of the Economic and Social Council.

The Director-General participated in the Global Issues Group Ambassador Luncheon hosted by Professor Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum.

The Director-General opened a concert of Yuri Bashment, the globally renowned Russian violist at the Palais des Nations. The concert was organized by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation.
