The Director-General opened a seminar on “Military and development spending in an era of austerity” organized by the International Peace Bureau on the Global Day of Action on Military Spending.

The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Austria, H. E. Mr. Thomas Hajnoczi, presented his credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

The Director-General opened an exhibition of works of art by Russian artists Andrei Volkov and Vitaly Gubarev, organized by the permanent Mission of the Russian Federation and other international organizations having their Headquarters in Geneva

The Director-General attended a reception hosted by H.E. Mr. Eviatar Manor, Permanent Representative of Israel, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Independence of the State of Israel

The Director-General attended a farewell reception hosted by Ms. Laura Mirachian, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Director-General opened an exhibition on the occasion of United Nations Chinese Language Day and accepted on behalf of UNOG, a donation by the Permanent Mission of China of a sculpture and book on the history of Chinese Film.

The new Permanent Representative of Haiti, Mr. Pierre André Dunbar presented his credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
