The Acting Director-General opened the 13th meeting of the States parties to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, noting that the United Nations in Geneva takes pride in supporting the Convention.

The Acting Director-General participated in a luncheon with Mr. Rashid Khalikov, Director of OCHA Geneva.

The Acting Director-General met with H.E. Mr. András Dékány, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Acting Director-General opened the UNOG Library Talk and book launch on "Human Rights Obligations of Business: Beyond the Corporate Responsibility to Respect?”

The Acting Director-General attended a reception organized by H.E. Mr. Obaid Salem Saeed Al Zaabi, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva on the occasion of the National Day of the United Arab Emirates.

The Acting Director-General met with Mr. Paul Arkwright, Director of Multilateral Policy, Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom.

The Acting Director-General participated in a luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Toshio Sano, Permanent Representative of Japan to the Conference on Disarmament.

The Acting Director-General met with Mr. Robert Steele, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The Acting Director-General met with H.E. Mr. Homero Luís Hernández Sánchez, Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Acting Director-General met with Ms. Sarah Cook, Director of the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD).

The Acting Director-General participated in the launch of the book “Realizing the Right to Development: Essays in Commemoration of 25 years of the United Nations Declaration on the Right to Development”, organized by the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR) and the UNOG Library.

The Acting Director-General participated in a luncheon with H.E. Mr. Abdul Samad Minty, Permanent Representative of South Africa to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland.

The Acting Director-General attended a reception held in his honour by H.E. Mr. Carsten Staur, Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Acting Director-General participated in Human Rights Day 2013, organized by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

The Acting Director-General participated in a luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Alexey Borodavkin, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Acting Director-General met with Ms. Theresa Hitchens, Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR).

The Acting Director-General opened the concert “Bacevièius and Bacewicz: different roads, one family”, organized by the Permanent Missions of Lithuania and Poland.

The Acting Director-General met with the Eastern European Group and exchanged views with them on current priorities of the United Nations with a particular focus on the perspective from Geneva.

The Acting Director-General met with Mr. Anders Johnsson, Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The Acting Director-General met with Ambassadeur Luzius Wasescha, Président du Club Diplomatique de Genève.

The Acting Director-General met with Mr. Miguel Moratinos, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain and President of the ONUART Foundation to discuss the activities of the Foundation.
