The Director-General attended a reception celebrating the thirteenth anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne.

The Director-General met with Mr. Mohamed Chiraz Baly, Executive Secretary of the Staff Coordinating Council (SCC), Mr. Ian Richards, President, and Ms. Dominique Rames, Deputy Executive Secretary, to discuss issues of common interest.

The Director-General, in his capacity as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, participated in presidential consultations of the Conference, which had resumed its work today.

The Director-General, in his capacity as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, participated in the first plenary meeting of the third part of the session of the Conference.

The Director-General received from the Chinese Book Club at UNOG a painting donated on the occasion of the exhibition of Chinese Imperial Paintings (2 to 10 August 2012). The painting is a facsimile of “Spring Outing of the Queen of Guo” by artist Zhao Ji (1082-1135).

The Director-General attended a concert of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra.

The Director-General participated in the traditional brunch organized by State Council of the Republic and Canton of Geneva to celebrate the national day of Switzerland. In his speech, he stressed the growing importance of Geneva on the international scene.

The Director-General attended the reception offered by the Administrative Council, in the presence of Mr. Rémy Pagani, Mayor of Geneva, to celebrate the Swiss national day.
