The Director-General met with Mr. Mohamed Mounir-Zahran, Chairman of the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU).

In his role as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, the Director-General participated in its presidential consultations.

The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation, Mr. Alexey Borodavkin presented his credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

In his role as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, the Director-General participated in its plenary session.

The Director-General participated in an event marking the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, held at the Palais des Nations.

The Director-General met Mr. Zamir Akram, Permanent Representative of Pakistan and Head of Delegation to the Conference on Disarmament to discuss issues related to moving forward the work of the Conference.
2 FEBRUARY 2012
The Director-General met Mr. Suren Badral, Ambassador-at-large of Mongolia to the Community of Democracies.

The Director-General met with Mr. Luis Gallegos, Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the Conference on Disarmament and President of the Conference.
3 FEBRUARY 2012
The Director-General met Ms. Laura Kennedy, Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the Conference on Disarmament, as well as Mr. John Ordway, Ambassador and Head of the BCC (USA - Russia Bilateral Consultative Commission on the New START Treaty) Delegation.

Mr. Jean-Hugues Simon-Michel, Permanent Representative of France to the Conference on Disarmament presented his letter of nomination to the Director-General, who welcomed him in his new role.

The Director-General received credentials from Mr. Pisanu Chanvitan, Permanent Representative of Thailand, and welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

The new Permanent Representative of Argentina, Mr. Alberto Pedro D'Alotto presented his credentials to the Director-General who welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

The Director-General received the letter of nomination from Mr. Antonio José Vallim Guerreiro, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the Conference on Disarmament and welcomed him in his new role.
