The Director-General, in his capacity as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament (CD) and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, participated in presidential consultations of the Conference.

The Director-General met Mr. Julio Camarena, Deputy Minister for Management and Budgetary Matters of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mexico.
The Director-General participated in the commemoration of World Humanitarian Day at the Parc des Bastions, Geneva, in which he took part in a walk and read the statement of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the occasion.
