The Director-General, in his capacity as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, addressed the plenary meeting of the General Assembly on “Follow-up to the high-level meeting held on 24 September 2010: Revitalizing the work of the Conference on Disarmament and taking forward multilateral disarmament negotiations”.
The Director-General met with Ms. Rose Gottemoeller, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance to discuss the advancement of multilateral disarmament.
The Director-General met with several senior United Nations officials at Headquarters in New York, including Ms. Patricia O'Brien, Legal Counsel, Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs, Ms. Catherine Pollard, Assistant Secretary-General, Office of Human Resources Management and Mr. Gregory B. Starr, Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security. Among issues discussed was ongoing collaboration in related areas.

The Director-General met with United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon and informed him about the current and future work of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Lynn Pascoe, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Mr. Kim Won-soo, Deputy Chef de Cabinet and Special Adviser to the Secretary-General, Mr. Atul Khare, Assistant Secretary-General, Change Management Team, Mr. Warren Sach, Assistant Secretary-General, Office of Central Support Services, Ms. Judy Cheng-Hopkins, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding Support, and Mr. Vijay Nambiar, Under-Secretary-General, Chef de Cabinet, to discuss ongoing collaboration with UNOG in related areas.

The Director-General met with Ms. Bente Angell-Hansen, Permanent Representative of Norway to express his condolences for last week’s attacks in Oslo and Utoya.
