The Director-General attended a reception hosted by Mr. Idriss Jazaïry, Permanent Representative of Algeria on the occasion of its National Day.
The Director-General hosted a working dinner in honour of Mr. Peter Maurer, State Secretary, Federal Department for Foreign Affairs, the Swiss Confederation in which he expressed his appreciation for the close collaboration and continued support of the Host Country to the United Nations in Geneva.

The Director-General met with Mr. Ahmed Fatah Allah, First Undersecretary, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Egypt to discuss regional developments and continued cooperation.
Mrs. Thérèse Baptiste-Cornelis, the new Permanent Representative of Trinidad and Tobago presented her credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed her as her country’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
The Director-General received credentials from Mr. Hanns Heinrich Schumacher, the new Permanent Representative of Germany and welcomed him as the new German Ambassador.
The Director-General met with former Ambassador of the United States of America to Kazakhstan Mr. John Ordway, Commissioner, Bilateral Consultative Commission Delegation of the Permanent Mission of the United States of America.

The Director-General met with Mr. David Harland, Executive Director, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue to discuss issues of common concern, as well as strengthening the cooperation between the Centre and the United Nations.
The Director-General opened the dance concert “Soirée de Jiuta-Maï : Danse Traditionnelle Japonaise”, which highlighted the culture of Japan through one of its most ancient forms of classical dance.

The Director-General met Ambassador Fred Tanner, Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy to discuss continued cooperation in its work promoting the building and maintenance of peace, security and stability through training, research and dialogue.
The Director-General met with Mr. Pedro Oyarce, Permanent Representative of Chile to receive the donation of a painting by the Chilean artist Felipe Mercadal.
The Director-General met with Mr. Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan and expressed appreciation for the decision of Kazakhstan’s Government to make a donation for the renovation of one of the conference rooms at the Palais des Nations.
