Director-General Meets with Participants in Reham Al-Farra Memorial Fellowship Programme
1 October 2012
The Director-General met with participants in the Reham Al-Farra Memorial Fellowship Programme to discuss the vision and priorities of the United Nations Office at Geneva. Established in 1980 by the UN General Assembly, the programme provides journalists with an opportunity to acquaint themselves with the work of the United Nations. Formerly known as the Department of Public Information (DPI) Training Programme for Broadcasters and Journalists from Developing Countries, the fellowship was renamed in honour of Reham Al-Farra, a young journalist and DPI staff member killed in the attack on UN Headquarters in Baghdad in 2003.
