Director-General Participates in Unveiling Ceremony for Italian Sculpture

The Director-General participated in the ceremony for the unveiling of the sculpture “La Macchina del Vento” by Italian artist Eugenio Bolley. The sculpture, donated by the Permanent Mission of Italy, is a windmill that is “Turning, turning for peace”. In his remarks, the Director-General expressed his appreciation to the Permanent Mission for its generous gift to the grounds of the Palais des Nations and highlighted the work of the United Nations in building peace around the world. He also noted the role of peace, stability and security in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
