Director-General Participates in Signing Ceremony of First-Ever UNOG-CERN Cooperation Agreement

The Director-General participated in the signing ceremony of the first-ever UNOG-CERN Cooperation Agreement. The agreement will allow for greater exchange of information and experience between the two organizations for the benefit of their Member States. Potential areas for intensified cooperation include promotion of models of peaceful cooperation through science, education and training, sharing of IT applications, and preservation of data and support on business continuity. During the ceremony, the Director-General highlighted that through greater collaboration, UNOG and CERN will learn from each other in a variety of fields, to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in their operations. He also emphasized the importance of collaborating together to draw attention to the value of science in society.
