Director-General Addresses OSCE Meeting

As a special guest, the Director-General addressed a joint meeting of the Forum for Security Co-operation and the Permanent Council of the Organization of for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna. In his remarks, the Director-General highlighted the shared values between the United Nations and the OSCE, and outlined possibilities for strengthened cooperation in conflict prevention, counter-terrorism, cyber-security, promotion and protection of human rights, and democratization. He emphasized the need to move ahead on arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation and called for efforts to overcome the impasse in the Conference on Disarmament.
