Director-General Participates in Briefing on G-20 Organized by the Permanent Mission of Mexico

The Director-General participated in a briefing on the G-20 organized by the Government of Mexico. The meeting provided an opportunity for Mexico, holding the current Presidency of the G-20, to brief on progress made by the group since its June Los Cabos Summit. The Director-General highlighted the need for the United Nations and the G-20 to work in mutually supportive ways and to focus together on the definition of a post-2015 development agenda. The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation, who will take over the Presidency in December 2012, also delivered remarks.
