Conference Assistance

The Meetings Management Section provides all the expertise and support needed to organize successful meetings and conferences, through the most efficient use of the existing conference resources.

Support offices, equipped with PCs, faxes, photocopiers and telephone lines for the substantive secretariats can be set up as required and at short notice. A variety of technical equipment is available upon request in the conference rooms, including: projectors - overhead, slide, video, SGVA - cassette recorders, VCRs, microphones, flipcharts and accessories, laser pointers, lecterns and facilities for voting of resolutions/decisions. Special audio-visual or other equipment can be provided, as well as access to Internet services.

The conference officers are in charge of the setting up of the meeting rooms, placing nameplates in accordance with United Nations protocol, and keeping the list of speakers. The team of experienced personnel is on hand to ensure that the events run smoothly and that meetings are not disturbed by the entry of non-authorized persons.
